Diners are welcomed to the space through the use of an exciting material palette. As diners head over to the reception they are met with one of the many interventions in the space. Pink resin rectangles explode in to the space p from above giving diners a sneak peek in to the upstairs. The idea is that throughout the journey the diners catch glimpses/moments of each other in unusual ways.

Playfulness through form and materiality; The playfulness of the concept and Alice in Wonderland themes are explored throughout the restaurant. In spaces that are sometimes typically anti-climatic or mundane; Circus Hotel brings light heartedness and fun back to the dining experience. The use of bold colours and materials create a haptic space for the diners to engage with. Silicone is used throughout the restaurant for its bold limitless colour palette and flexibility.

What is interior design? Is it limited to taste and decoration? Are cities like Glasgow accessible? This project is about designing an accessible interior for the blind people living in Glasgow. It’s aim is to show the non-aesthetic value of interior design, highlight the importance of the narrative and empathy towards the user and prove that accessible does not have to be boring.

The proposal recreates four zones that are open to public: the Hallway, Reception area, the Resource Room and the Community Room. It introduces colour coding, colour contrast, sensory trail, tactile paving as well as wall and floor railing system serving as different cues for the blind and partly sighted people for an independent navigation around the space.

Let’s make Glasgow more accessible and the problem more visible. Because when we design for disability, we all benefit. Accessibility. Visibility. Empathy.

A visual and tactile experience awaits the visitors, entering through a tune I inspired by the building's history. The old saw and file factory is an A-listed building, the facade therefore remains untouched, with all it's original features. Engraved fiooring with outlines of chronological maps of the area, creating a journey through space and time. Garden scu lptures inspired by the rough, industrial, metallic past of the building.

The aesthetic of the metallic sculptures is carried on into the furniture and details such as the bar and the lighting. "Rooms" that imitate shipping containers allow this flexibility, they can fully open to create an events space, or completely closed for acoustic privacy when individual exchanges are happening.

In tarot, the rose is considered a symbol of balance. The beauty of this flower expresses promise, hope, and new beginnings. It is contrasted by thorns symbolising defence, loss, and thoughtlessness. A yellow rose symbolizes joy, protection against envious lovers, and a mature love. The yellow rose is also a symbol of friendship, windosm, joy and good health. I’ve decided to use the rose as a concept because I wanted to fight the stereotype of roses being associated with love.

The world we live in today has become extremely saturated with technology, from the work place to our homes, we are surrounded and immersed into a world where we no longer are conscience of using technology as it has become so integrated within our lives that it has become natural to us. This makes it harder for people to distinguish between the public and private parts of their life. It has often makes us question whether technology has evolved with the intention to improve the quality of our lives or whether it has become so invasive that it consumes our lives and compromises our privacy.

The design promotes a sense of wandering through the layout consisting of a circulation space of ramps that surrounds a central void off which the intervention spaces can be found that house the various activities. The design introduces the idea of having a fog that travels through parts of the structure, particularly in the circulation spaces. The fog acts as a purification method in aiding to cleanse the residents whilst helping with isolation as it blurs the boundary points of the structure, removing a sense of location for the resident.

Mountain Biking is a sport with increasing popularity in Scotland, considering the amount of hills, forests and outdoor areas it is a suitable sport to practice here however equipments, especially the bikes, are expensive, making it a less affordable sport , therefore still not many people in Scotland have tried the sport. I see this as a chance to promote mountain biking to the public.

The project suggests a space which is going to be the first centre of its kind in the city of Glasgow where it will be easily accessible by public transport. Bringing people form all over the country or even the world to castlemilk; creating opportunities for the town and boosting local economy and development with an outdoor sport centre.

Helping environment and being sustainable should be important for all of us. Every day we produce tons of waste of different kinds - food waste, packaging waste or construction waste, which may introduce toxic chemicals to our environment. Drastically expanding retail market releases new products daily, in order to meet consumers’ demands, which only worsens the situation.

Designing Sustainable Material Lab could create an opportunity for businesses, designers and consumers to consider wider selection of materials for their next products, with ecological effect on surrounding environment. Design would include careful consideration of material choice inside the space, as an example of sustainable design. Additional part to a creative and inspiring Material Lab would be a possibility to design a exhibition space for new designers, small cafe and a shop.
Personal Projects 2017
The aim is to showcase sustainable and eco-friendly materials that will improve future waste reduction, as well as expand knowledge about materiality. By designing creative and inspiring space, I am hoping to encourage designers to consider environmental issues, and come up with alternative solutions for future products.
