Interior Design student Venus Pang wins Retail Design Student Award |
Interior Design student Venus Pang has won the Retail Design Student Award at the Retail Design Expo 2016. The inaugural competition invited students from six institutions around the UK to submit work. The Expo, held at Olympia in London, is Europe’s leading annual event for innovation and inspiration in retail design, marketing, visual merchandising, architecture and shopfitting. The prize includes work placements with Top Shop and Graven Images. Judge Matthew Valentine, Editor of Retail Design Week said “Venus was working to a real brief by one of the most dynamic fashion retailers in the world. To impress seasoned designers in that context suggests that she is truly one to watch.” Read more in the press release.Three Interior Design students from the GSA made the shortlist for the award, after responding to a brief to create a concept for the new Topshop store in Los Angeles, set by Guy Smith, Head of Design at Arcadia Group. Aaron Hunter’s entry, featured holograph technology and Lisa Gauss created a theatrical design to reflect the store location. See and read more about all three entries here.
